Emily Procter

 

American actress Emily Mallory Procter, born October 8, 1968, is also an activist. She was Ainsley Hayes in the NBC political drama The West Wing (2000-2002; 2006) and Det. Calleigh Duquesne was an actor on a CBS police procedural drama titled CSI: Miami (2002–2012).



 



 Childhood and early life



 Procter was born on October 8, 1968. At the age of a newborn, she was adopted by William Procter (a general practitioner) and Barbara Jones (a volunteer worker). Procter was raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. After her parents divorced, she was only three years older. She has an older brothernamed Whit and is adopted.



 



 Procter attended Ravenscroft School in Raleigh. Procter was a student at East Carolina University and was an active member of Alpha Delta Pi. She was a TV anchor for the WNCT-TV in Greenville, North Carolina. After graduating, she earned degrees in journalism and dance.
